• General Assembly:

IHAF General Assembly is the supreme decision-making power in IHAF. It is responsible for the development of IHAF policies and monitoring the achievement of IHAF strategic directions.

  • Board of Directors:

IHAF Board of Directors consists of a permanent member of the hosting country and eight Full members; four representing halal accreditation bodies who are Multi-Lateral Recognition Arrangement signatories in IHAF, and four are representing accreditation bodies that are Full members of ILAC\IAF and signed an agreement with halal accreditation bodies in IHAF. Members are elected by the General Assembly.The Board is responsible for reviewing bylaw, policies, regulations and strategies before raising to the General Assembly for endorsement.

  • General Secretariat

IHAF has a General Secretariat to ensure implementation of the provisions of the bylaw, rules and internal systems, prepare IHAF strategic plans and annual work programs, review membership applications before raising to the BOD, manage peer evaluation activities, manage agreements concluded between IHAF and other parties, in addition to the daily functions of IHAF.

  • IHAF Committees:

1.     Multi-Lateral Recognition Arrangement Committee

Membership in MRAC is restricted to full members of IHAF only.

Main role of the MRAC is to manage IHAF Multi-Lateral Recognition Arrangement (MRA), this includes development of policies and procedures, ensure harmonization and consistency in implementation of the MRA, manage the peer evaluations and manage the system for signatories to MRA.

2.     Technical Affairs Committee

Membership in MRAC is restricted to full members of IHAF only.

Main role of the TAC is to manage efforts to harmonize accreditation practices in field of halal between IHAF members to facilitate the mutual recognition among them, review the essential technical requirements and provide necessary recommendations to enhance systems of both accreditation bodies and conformity assessment bodies to enable them to work in halal field, ensure all needed documents for supporting IHAF MRA system are in place and satisfy the need, and provide support and advice to MRAC if required.

3.             Marketing and Media Committee

Membership in MMC is open to all members of IHAF.

Main role of the MMC is to develop IHAF Marketing Strategy, to perform trend studies and analysis for IHAF Media and recommend improvements, and to propose mechanisms to exchange information and experience within IHAF members.

This position is vacant after resignation of the Chair from the Emirates National Accreditation System (ENAS)
