IHAF Membership Categories

Membership in IHAF falls under one of the following three categories:

  • Full Membership
  • Associate Membership
  • Affiliate Membership
  • For Accreditation Bodies and Regional Accreditation Bodies.

Eligibility to be an IHAF MRA Signatory member and to accept each other halal conformity assessment results for the aim of facilitating halal trade and avoid duplication of reverification and retesting of halal goods.
Having voting rights for new applicants to be accepted or rejecting as MRA Signatory member.

 

Having voting rights for confirming, expanding, reducing scope of the MRA of the signatory members.
Having voting rights for withdrawing a member from MRA Signatory List.
Having voting rights in IHAF MRA and TA Committees.
Participate in peer-evaluation trainings
Full access to members’ area in the website
Participate in halal assessors’ trainings
Attending MRA and TA committees’ meetings as Observers. NA
Partial access to members’ area in the website
Free membership for three years from the date of establishment (till end of 2019).
Participation in IHAF Technical Support Programs
Participation in IHAF Conferences, Workshops & Seminars.
Announcement of membership in Social Media and Website

Membership Category Required Information/Documents
1. Full Membership 1.     Evidence on Applicant’s Legal Status: provide a proof that the applicant is:

–        Recognized officially in their country as a provider of Accreditation Services, and/or;

–        Recognized officially by the regional economies it represents as a provider of Accreditation Services, or;

–        It is licensed in its country as provider of accreditation services, or obtained and maintained full membership from ILAC/IAF

 

2.     Background statement about the applicant.

3.     List of CABs accredited by applicant in halal field for each scope of work as per annex A, if any.

4.     List of staff with their relevant qualifications, experience in assessment & accreditation.

5.     Staff training records in halal field, if any.

6.     List of other locations of the accreditation body, if applicable.

 

2. Associate Membership 1.     Evidence on Applicant’s Legal Status: provide a proof that the applicant is:

–        Recognized officially in their country as a provider of Accreditation Services, and/or;

–        Recognized officially by the regional economies it represents as a provider of Accreditation Services, or;

–        It is licensed in its country as provider of accreditation services or obtained and maintained full membership from ILAC/IAF.

 

2.     Background statement about the applicant.

3.     Organizational Structure.

4.     List of CABs accredited by applicant in halal field for each scope of work, if any.

5.     List of staff with their relevant qualifications, experience, trainings and responsibilities assigned in halal field, if any.

6.     List of other locations of the accreditation body, if applicable.

 

3. Affiliate Membership  
a. For Accreditation Bodies and Regional Accreditation Bodies. 1.     Evidence on Applicant’s Legal Status.

2.     Background statement about the applicant.

3.     Organizational Structure.

4.     List of CABs accredited by applicant in halal field for each scope of work, if any for accreditation bodies.

5.     For RG; list of member ABs and their scope of work related to halal accreditation.

 

b. Affiliate Membership for Others. 1.     Evidence on Applicant’s Legal Status.

2.     Background statement about the applicant and its relationship with halal field.

3.     Organizational Structure.
